The second question of this series which covers page One Hundred Eighteen is What is the difference between access concentration and absorption concentration?
Sayadaw explains that access concentration is when the jhana factors are not fully developed and the meditator can fall into 'bhavangas'... I think we've mentioned them before; attaching thought-moments.
He cautions meditators from falling into the trap of beieving that there i s no need to pursue concentration to the end of knowing; which is the mind that knows nirvana, which is the formation of knowing nirvana. In other words, deepest knowing is not 'nothing' or 'formless'.
